On March 12, 2019, Wang Tongzhou, Chairman of the Board of Directors, President and General Manager of CNMC met Stephanie Cormier, Chairman Advisor of National Mining Company of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Ngoy A Bussard, Head of Strategic Planning and their delegation at CNMC Building, and both parties made in-depth exchange and reached broad consensus on further reinforcement and deepening of broad and pragmatic cooperation.

Chairman Wang Tongzhou expressed his warm welcome to Chairman Advisor Stephanie Cormier, and introduced the investment and development of CNMC in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He stated that, in recent years, with the increasingly close exchange between China and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the friendship among people of both countries was steadily on the increase, with fruitful achievements. CNMC, as one of the first Chinese enterprises entering the Democratic Republic of the Congo for development, has developed mutually beneficial and win-win practical cooperations with National Mining Company of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and the projects have benefited the local people, and made positive contributions to the development of local social and economic development, and were highly praised by the government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and local people. During Beijing Summit of Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), CNMC held fruitful talks with Yuma, Chairman of National Mining Company of the Democratic Republic of the Congo on deepening and expanding bilateral practical cooperation, and reached broad consensus. He stated that, CNMC and National Mining Company of the Democratic Republic of the Congo have good foundation for friendly cooperation and broad prospects, and hoped that both parties would continue to strengthen their pragmatic cooperation, close cooperation, promote the construction of cooperative projects jointly, so as to expand the areas of cooperation and achieve mutual benefit and win-win results, consolidate and develop the friendship between China and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and make new contributions to a closer China-Africa community of common future.?
