On August 29, 2018, Wang Tongzhou, chairman, Party secretary and general manager of CNMC, met with Okoto, Ambassador of Democratic Republic of the Congo to China, and both Parties made deep communication and achieved broad consensus on mutually concerned topics.?

During the meeting, Chairman Wang Tongzhou extended a warm welcome to the visiting of ambassador Okoto and expressed heartfelt thanks to the care and support to CNMC by Embassy of Democratic Republic of the Congo in China for a long time. He expressed that he just came back to China from research to enterprises and projects invested by CNMC in Democratic Republic of the Congo, and had met with governor of Lualaba Province during the research, achieved broad consensus. As one of the Chinese enterprises entering into Democratic Republic of the Congo earliest, CNMC has always been adhering to the principle of Responsible Central Enterprise, exploring innovative cooperation modes and actively participating in the economic and social construction of Democratic Republic of the Congo under the great support of Democratic Republic of the Congo, realized mutual benefit and win-win result and also the understanding and trust of people in Democratic Republic of the Congo. Chairman Wang Tongzhou said that the coming 2018 Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) will surely open a new chapter in the cooperation between China and Democratic Republic of the Congo. CNMC will strictly follow the requirements of Real and Kind to Africa of President Xi Jinping, actively respond to the Belt and Road Initiative, continuously develop business in Democratic Republic of the Congo and actively perform social responsibilities, making greater contribution to the economic and social development of Democratic Republic of the Congo and contributing colorful power for building tighter community of common future between China and Africa.

Ambassador Okoto expressed his thanks to warm reception by Chairman Wang Tongzhou. He said that, for a long time, CNMC made great development in Democratic Republic of the Congo, provided local places with vast numbers of employment opportunities, concerned local social public welfare establishments and brought local people with welfare, making great contribution to economic and social development of Democratic Republic of the Congo and friendly relationship between the two countries. No matter how the international situation changes, Democratic Republic of the Congo will be the most reliable friend of CNMC, said by Ambassador Okoto. Ambassador of Democratic Republic of the Congo to China will continue supporting the development of CNMC in Democratic Republic of the Congo as always, promoting the deep and wide cooperation between both Parties and realizing cooperation, win-win and common development.
