Lifting of the first steelwork of Lualaba Copper Smelting Co., Ltd (LCS)

At 8:19 on Aug.5 in local time of Congo, Fan Wei, director and vice president of the Company and general manager of LCS and Huang Jiangshuai, deputy general manager of LCS, leading relevant persons, came to the project construction base to witness the lifting of the first steelwork, which means that LCS project has begun to enter into installation phase and ensured that the LCS project will be successfully completed on Sep.30, 2019.

LCS project was commenced on Mar.28. All managements and employees of the company work hard and overcome various difficulties to try the best to boost the overall progress of the entire LCS project. Over 123 days of endeavor, civil work construction for foundation has been basically finished and totally 7000t steelworks and nonstandard equipment for furnace bodies were fabricated.

The living quarter is 7 km away from the plant area and has been opened for occupancy on Aug.1.
The LCS project adopts the world advanced copper smelting technology with low energy consumption, environmental protection and high efficiency and will effectively promote the mining and deep discovery in existing deep copper sulfide ore deposit in Congo. This project will provide more than 1500 working posts in Congo and cultivate large quantity of technical talents and operators in aspect of pyrometallurgy, automation, machinery and electric appliance. While, the Southern Kolwezi power supply center system constructed for supporting this project will effectively improve the intense power consumption situation in local place and areas along the supply line.Our responsibility and assumption are concluded as: “to lighten the ground of Southern Kolwezi and devote to sustainable development of Lualaba”.
Looking ahead to the future of LCS, we are full of expectations to make more contribution to early building up the first large pyrogenic refinery in Congo.
